Fact: Motivation levels are different in different people. Some people seem to be highly motivated most of the time. But before you think you are one of those people with low motivation think again. Generally we are motivated by things that matter to us, by the things we value, that are meaningful and purposeful to us. Those people who are highly motivated often have a very compelling reason to be motivated; the more compelling the reason the higher the motivation. For most people it is a matter of finding out what it is that compels them and motivation will follow.
All motivation comes from the reasons we have for doing something. If you don’t have a reason to do something you won’t do it. This is what creates the 4 different types of motivation.
Inspiration is an amazing thing, it creates a burning desire and energy for what you love doing. It’s the feeling you get when you discover something related to a hobby or dream of yours, and you’re infused with energy and passion.
With the foundation in place, you are now primed for stoking the flames of inspiration. We all find inspiration from different places. Some enjoy going for a quite walk along the beach, while others find inspiration from the busy hustle and bustle of a crowded urban street. Or perhaps a movie or a book inspire you. Others still find look at my magazine from those who lived before us. The Thomas Edison quote “Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time,” inspires many to continue on even when their inspiration is at the lowest. Regardless of how you find inspiration, now that you have the foundation in place, you can start to stoke the flames.
motivational videos are very helpful in your positive thinking process and your pursuit to be successful. Many people use self-help books or CDs to help them stay on track but motivational videos can be equally as helpful if not more so. Watching videos that will inspire you to be your best and never give up on your dream are great tools to use in conjunction with your positive thinking program.
For musicians, a good way of doing this, is slightly limiting yourself on purpose, for example, removing a couple of strings on the guitar, and trying to write a solo with the remaining strings. This will make you think about new ways of playing as you have strings missing that you normally would have used, so that when you put the strings back on, you have a fresh mind and new ideas.
There’s no limit to how happy you can be! Just go out there and be your very best you! Your happiness will in turn motivate those around you so it’s really win-win!
