You can never understand covenant until you get discernment of the mystery of the blood trail with the three blood covenants God made with man. Make no mistake about it, the Jews always knew that God would present the unblemished lamb that would become our redeeming savior. But they had become so dependent upon the law and legalism and passing their sin onto the red heifer once a year that when their appointed time for final redemption came in the form of a servant they had a hard time believing that he would have to become sin for them in the nature of a common criminal and hang on a cross, cursed. They expected a King to relieve them of the oppression from Rome.
On one of their travels, Paul, with Silas and Timothy, came to Galatia in the highlands of Anatolia around the modern city of Ankara in Turkey. From Acts 16:6, it seems that the Holy Spirit guided them very specifically to go to Galatia. The people of Galatia were Gauls – family of today’s French – who settled there and became the ruling class three centuries before Jesus was born. Later, they became part of the Roman empire and were respected as a nation of famous fighters. The Galatians prayed to several gods and built temples for them.

God made a covenant with Abraham in which He took all the requirements upon Himself. What did Abraham do? He believed in God. Because of his faith, God accepted him. In this way, God opened the way for people from all nations to be accepted by their faith.
The good man leaves an inheritance to his children and grandchildren. No doubt Solomon refers to material inheritance, that is, wealth and lands, etc. He contrasts this with the situation of the sinner by pointing out the sinner’s wealth is laid up for the just. How can this be so? It often seems to be the case that it isn’t so. But Solomon is not teaching us a spiritual law here. Rather, he is teaching us a principle of living. Though there may be exceptions, the good father is one who is concerned with the welfare of his offspring – both materially and otherwise.
There is a familiar song which connected the ‘blessing of Abraham’ with the blessings of Duet.28. It goes something like this, “Abraham’s blessings are mine, Abraham’s blessings are mine, I am blessed in the city, I am blessed in the field, Abraham’s blessings are mine.” Putting the verses to music does not creates reality, but it does serve to give the imagination a stage and props to envision any form of blessing that comes to mind. These inspirations give a false hope, false confidence, and false righteousness.
