If you own or manage a business Website, chances are you are at least somewhat familiar with the concept of search engine optimization (SEO). You may have read any number of books and articles on the subject and possibly given it a try yourself. Or perhaps, after exhaustive research, you decided that your time is better spent in your area of expertise. If that’s the case, I have some good news for you. There is such a thing as affordable search engine optimization. In fact, when you know what to look for, it can be a real bargain.
web development methods work. They’re effective. But they’re also expensive and they often have an expiry date. Paying for digital advertisements is often something that’s short-lived. It might cost you hundreds or thousands for a temporary ad. But banners and signs last. Even if you’ve got a robust online marketing campaign going, you’ll want to make sure you continue to pay attention to your bricks and mortar marketing and advertising. Signs, banners, and displays could be an area of advertising that helps your business flourish — especially if you’re in a store front or are a consumer business in a busy area.
A. Unfortunately, in reality, you can’t. Be certain to ask for a list of search engines and directories where submissions will or have been made. Any reputable seo company will supply you with a written monthly report highlighting the search engines to which your site has been submitted, the submission dates and progress of your website rankings. If, after 3 months, your website ranking hasn’t improved then it is more than likely that optimisation isn’t occurring and even doubtful whether the promised website submissions have even been made.
One of the main reasons why it is difficult to decide which of these 2 strategies is best for your site lies in understanding why you cannot use both of these methods. In reality, there really is no reason why you cannot use both of these methods. In fact, it is encouraged to use both strategies because PPC can work well with any SEO plan.
With many search terms and engines, it’s always going to be possible for some keywords not to rank. Don’t get hung up on what search terms didn’t pop in the Top 30. Focus on your traffic growth and conversions.
The keyphrase that I was targeting was ‘Central Florida Surf Report’. If you check MSN, I am ranked #1. If you check Yahoo! I am ranked #1. If you check Google I am still ranked #3 but I am pretty sure after the next Google update I will be #1. The cool thing about it is that since I was targeting ‘Central Florida Surf Report’, it eventually rolls over to ‘Florida Surf Report’. On MSN I am #1 for ‘Florida Surf Report’. On Yahoo! I am #1 for ‘Florida Surf Report’. On Google I am #15, but this should also go up the next Google update. Rolling over again, it eventually turns into ‘surf report’, currently on MSN I am ranked #13 for this keyphrase. It is very exciting to watch all my work actually pay off.
For every 100 of your current visitors, 85 of them will find you through search engines. Unless you have lots of time, understand exactly how the search engines work, can write effective copy and key word combinations, can sort through all the misinformation on how to correctly market your site, and can get it all right the first time without spending a dime, then you need an SEO consultant for the long term rewards that search engine optimization can bring you. Your investment in the future of your website will be worth while. You’ll be glad you did.
